The Fiscal cliff……haaaa!!! Do you feel falling people? It seems that congress has done nothing about it and has decided instead to go home and celebrate New Years Eve. How nice it is to be rich with money and making over 100K a year.
I wasn’t surprised. Since the beginning of talks about the Fiscal cliff all that congress has done is quarrel about who is right and who is wrong. They quarrel about not liking the president or how much they like the president. They quarrel about how President Obama is not a good leader or how awesome he is as a leader. They quarrel and quarrel as if wanting to demonstrate to the people how different they are and how wonderful each side is. This is my message to them, GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE AND THINK OF THE PEOPLE WHO PAY YOU TO EAT AND LIVE YOUR LIFE OF LUXURY!!! GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE AND BE HUMBLE, THINK OF THE PEOPLE AND STOP THINKING ABOUT YOUR SELF-INTERESTS!!!
Yes, I am tired of hearing and watching the news talk about politics. I am tired of hearing, reading and watching how the people are going to suffer because of politicians that want to keep themselves rich. I am tired of hearing and watching how politicians take advantage of time limits. I am tired of hearing, reading and watching how politicians do illegal stuff and get away with it. I am tired of hearing, reading and watching how they get richer and richer. I am tired of hearing, reading and watching self-absorbed politicians. I am just tired and I am sure the people is also tired.
Fact: Obama has cut funding in entitlements, education, assistance programs and more already.
Fact: The richer has become richer and the middle class is becoming smaller and smaller.
Fact: MOST PEOPLE IN CONGRESS ARE MILLIONAIRES. They are basically getting richer out of tax payers money. A senator makes 10K+ a month. See the numbers yourself:
1 senator and representative in congress makes $14,500 a month
The president gets paid $33,333 a month
The United States Postmaster General makes $20,416 a month
The Vice President of America makes $18,941 a month
The Speaker of the white house makes $18,625 a month
The Chairman of the Joint Committee Staff makes $18,394.50 a month
The Chief Justice of Supreme Court of America makes $18,116 a month
The Chairman of the Federal Reserve of America makes $16,641 a month
The American Senate of Majority Leader makes $16,116 a month
The Secretary of American Treasury makes $15,941 a month
The Secretary of United States makes $15,550 a month
Interesting, while most of U.S. voters make less than 3.5K a month. There is something wrong with this picture. It makes me question as to why they were fighting so much about the tax rate increase for the rich. Are they really worried about small businesses or themselves and their businesses? Are they lobbying for themselves? Do they care about the voter or about staying in congress?
In simple words, the rich need to pay up. Everybody has been making sacrifices already (Medicaid, welfare, education and all the programs that affect the middle class and lower classes directly). The rich are not the exception. Tell me, how in the world did the rich become richer during a recession? While everybody else has been suffering.
Then, there is the ending of the pay freeze for congress. Something I just don’t get from the president. I agree that the salaries of the federal workers should be “unfrozen”. I just don’t agree in unfreezing the salaries of congressmen and women. They have enough money as it is and ending their pay freeze will increase their salaries from about $500 to $10,000 a year. Why?
The money spent on individual salaries for congressmen and women is too excessive in my opinion. These are your tax payer’s money that should be spent on the country, instead of individual salaries for people who are mostly millionaires. From their recent actions, these politicians only care about themselves. For example, they left without coming into a deal on the fiscal cliff today; not caring how the people will be affected. Why did we vote for them? To represent us? Did they represent us?
Some readers may say that what I am about to say is too extreme or too radical. I apologize to them ahead of time. What I am going to write is not from personal opinions like I usually specify when it is, what I am going to write is from history.
History has shown us over and over again that when the people is unhappy, the people rebel. History has shown us over and over again that when the people feels maltreated, they get angry. History has shown us over and over again that when the people is neglected and forgotten by the people in power, there is revolution. Then, history has shown us over and over again that tyrants usually take advantage of this and one goes into power.
I think we have a long way to go for any type of revolution and I really hope that we don’t get to that point because I love this country and it’s democracy. I am sure that the people also don’t want a revolution or anything like that. However, the people are smart, intelligent and becoming more and more educated. The struggles and quarreling happening in congress are fine as long as solutions benefit the people and this country. Once these struggles start to directly affect the people, that is when the people will become more and more frustrated with the consequences written above.
I personally like what president Obama said in his last speech, specially the part where he said, “They (the people) need us — they need us to all stay focused on them. Not on politics”. I like this statement because what is at stake is not politics but is the people and it’s country.
As mentioned above, politicians need to stop been so self-absorbed in their self-interests. On top, I also think that the people need to get involved and have their voices heard. The people need to call their senators and representatives (just like the rich do) and request they do their job.
People call your senators and representatives and demand them to work for you because after all you pay their salaries, this is something the people need to realize. People use your power as a voter, as a citizen of the United States and as an American. This power does not end after the elections, this is power you have 24/7. Congressmen and women enjoy the benefits of your money with nice houses, cars and all these luxuries we the people barely have. You deseve to be represented, you deserve to be heard.
